According to 7 Days News, GSM coverage area in Myanmar now include Taunggyi also.
GSM service in Taunggyi introduces from the beginning of this month.

"I thought my friend was in Yangon and when I called her she is actually in Taunggyi. I was suprised. The sound quality is as good as talking within Yangon." said Ma Khin Win Aye, who dialed her friend's GSM in Taunggyi.

As GSM is now available in Taunggyi, many local people now buy GSMs. As of now, GSM coverage area include Yangon, Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, Pagan Nyaung Oo and Taung Gyi.
